Shepherding Groups

A Variety of Groups, for a Variety of People

Zion's Book Group meets the third Friday of month, in the Wildgrube Room at 1:00 p.m.  We meet all year long, including the summer months.  We read one book each month, and then discuss it at our monthly meeting. The Book Group has been meeting for at least 20 years. We invite everyone.  If you just want to come once to discuss a particular book, that's just fine.  Please check the calendar and Facebook page for upcoming book selections.

The Zion Fine Arts Committee is a group of folks who have an eye for the visual arts - and who adorn the walls and rooms of the Zion Campus with uplifting art. Most notably, the Zion's Fine Arts Committee reaches out to the church members & our community to showcase visual arts, mainly focusing on Christian Art in the form of a rotating gallery.

Hardy Perennials is a group for members and friends of Zion Lutheran Church age 60 and older. We meet the second Thursday of every month (except July and August). Each month we either have an event planned at the church, or we car pool to an interesting destination. The day's plans always include lunch.

Past activities have included a tour of the NYS Capitol Building, A luncheon cruise on Lake George, and a tour of the Military Museum in Saratoga. Once a year we go on an all day bus tour to a more distant location.

We are always looking for people to plan an activity!   Check the calendar and Facebook page for upcoming events!

Love to be outdoors?  Join our year-round Hiking Group!  Hikes vary from beginning to challenging and new members are welcome!

This long-standing group meets at church on the first Saturday of each month. Along with a hearty breakfast, these men share fellowship, various studies, and undertake many needed projects in our congregation and the community. All men are welcome.

This Shepherd group meets monthly for a fellowship activity. Our Bible Study component is fulfilled by attending a weekly class of one's choice. Some of our past events have included picnics on Lake George and Sacandaga Lake, an Oktoberfest, a New Year's Eve-eve Party, a Fifties Dance Party, a chili supper, lasagna dinner, and a cookie exchange, and dessert, coffee, and conversation gatherings. New members (and new ideas) are always welcome.
